Learning and being inspired - upcoming podcasts
Jul 12, 2023
Every time I talk to someone, I learn something – about them, about myself or about a topic. As a podcast host, I’m inclined to be interested in people and luckily it doesn’t take much work! Their stories, how their minds work, how they live their lives – its endlessly fascinating.
The conversations in themselves are thought provoking, constructively challenging, illuminating, funny, sometimes emotionally charged. Alone (as a listening experience) they have such value – to me, and also I hope to you the audience!
I don’t always agree with my guest’s perspectives – I don’t have to.
I’m not trying to interview people who have all the same views as I do – I want to weave for the podcast audience a complex and fascinating web of ideas, histories and emotions, that showcase humanity and human diversity for what it is – a positive and a privilege.
And over time, I’m finding that these interactions are doing what I hoped they would when I started Humans At Work – they’re inspiring and changing me.
Blanket of beliefs and values
From each podcast conversation I sew a different square to the blanket of my beliefs and values that I’m constantly renewing and revising.
This blanket:
- keeps me warm (a comfort)
- is something to rest on (a foundation)
- provides me with inspiration (it embodies memories and ideas)
- shows to the world the colours and emblem of who I am and want to be (it’s a statement and a stance).
Upcoming podcasts
I’m in the middle of recording and releasing the next season of podcasts.
Alongside the conversations of last season, which covered topics as wide ranging as Nelson Mandela’s leadership style to ADHD as a superpower, here are some of the highlights in this upcoming season:
- Johnny Singh, Fijian and marine biologist, who tells it like it is about climate change, food insecurity and sparking ecological inspiration in children
- Conversations on ethics and impact with entrepreneurs Dan Sherrard-Smith, Carlos Terol and Claudia Guerreiro
- New thinking on strategy, leadership, psychology and performance with Jeroen Kraaijenbrink, Niven Postma, Andy Longley, Sophie Bretag and Nina Field
- Postscript moments (a shorter follow-up with a previous guest) with Diane White and Jeff Mike, where we delve into adaptive leadership, Artificial Intelligence and inclusive workforce strategies.
These these new podcasts will be released during July and August – so you can be assured of a regular menu to feed your need for reflection and inspiration.
Why not choose one to listen to a podcast from the current library, and find out what insights they bring to you.
I’d love to hear which you’ve listened to and what you took away from it!
